Summary
We built features to help data admins & data engineering teams understand who and what exactly was responsible for their company's Snowflake and Databricks spend.
This involved solving two key experiences that were a recurring point of feedback and frustration in our customer calls.
Making it easier for users to tag the thousands of data assets they use across their company
Provide a cost attribution experience to enable simultaneously support department/team level chargebacks & C-Suite level cost visibility

Bulk tagging experience
Our previous tagging experience limited users to only being able to tag Snowflake assets, and furthermore would only allow them to tag one asset type in bulk at a time. So, we redesigned this experience to let users tag resources across all types and from both Snowflake and Databricks.

"Customers previously could not tag more than 50 assets at once without hitting errors. Now we have seen them tagging 1000s in a single action."

Cost attribution report
Prior to this feature release, we did not have a tag-based cost attribution experience so this feature went a long way towards letting customers understand their costs based on how their business, departments, and teams are set up.
